It will be released on 21st June Pacific time, right now it's just on midnight in that time zone, so will still be a few/several hours yet before it's released.

Yes. I'm sure they wouldn't bother releasing it at midnight. Apps are also being updated to be compatible with iOS 4.0 which is good. For the past 1-2 weeks I've been using 4.0 but multitasking was a no go due to the apps.

Most of the rumours are saying 9-10am PST, which means about 4-5am on Tuesday morning in NZ.

As long as you currently have iTunes 9.2 it should automagically download and install the update for the new iOS4.

In iTunes just click on Help > Check For Updates and it should automatically download the latest version of iTunes for you.

Alternatively, just go to the apple website and download the latest version from there - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Awesome, now I have to install iTunes again (Was avoiding that at all costs since Rhythmbox does iPod Syncing) - I still have Beta 5 / Jailbroken on my iPod Touch.

Why the rush?

Wait for a month for the problems to emerge, then decide.

That's the one thing I am not looking forward to.

The backup and re-loading of the OS and all content to my iPhone. Grrr.

In saying that, I read that the backup process has been made quicker with iOS4...we shall see tonight, I guess.
