I updated an iPhone Ive been testing this morning.... update went through fine, not hassles at all.
To me, I dont see much different with 4.0 vs 3.x as Ive only used an iphone for a week :)

So far though, hasnt given me any grief on iOS 4, but im not using it enough to see issues.

BTW think theres an iOS 4 discussion happening over here : http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=76&topicid=63178

Working well on my 3GS. Upgrade process took about 15 minutes. Make sure you do a manual backup BEFORE upgrading, I've heard lots of people saying that the backup process during upgrade can take over half an hour if you're unlucky, so doing it manually helps avoid that.

The 3GS is a lot snappier, I've reduced 7 pages of apps down to one page of folders and I'm pretty happy with it in general :)
