Known updates to iOS 4.1:

1, Game Center is added back into firmware - and has had a visual update (UI wise)
2, Baseband (or Modem version) has been upgraded again (possibly to fix any incoming JailBreak exploit) to 02.07.01
3, Digital Watermarking.. prevention of Service if JailBreak detected - see quote below:
"Also, iOS 4.1 has new encryption technology, that will constantly check if iPhone or iPod touch, have been jailbroken. This is done by digital watermark that appears when iOS is jailbroken, and this watermark cannot be removed, even if reverted to unjailbroken status. Apple store employees will check for the watermark during iPhone service."
4, Can turn Spell Checking off in options now
5, Cell Reception bars are slightly bigger than previously
6, Phone number Save as Favourites option now asks for location (Voice or Facetime)
7, 4.1 apparently doesnt fix reception issues.
8, Build number increased to 8B5080c

Number 3 is sure to piss a LOT of people off.

its only going to affect the people who "upgrade".. unless of course the JailBreak creators work around it..

I'd imagine it won't be long until someone finds a way around #3.

It's got poor encryption apparently so shouldn't be long until it's broken.

Just installed, doesn't seem to be broken so far. No improvements that I've noticed yet.

So i just installed it on my 3G, thought it cant be any slower than 4.0

Seems the same, and the game center thing has reappeared and the UI is now, well er, see the screen shots below. the green bits being my user ID. it looked better before i think, less cheaesy. and you can see the ever so slightly larger bars in the second shot.

simple logic.

Yup I'm an Apple developer, but I've always used betas/RC's on my main phone, never had a problem. Sometimes there's bugs, they usually fix them in a couple of weeks.
