I've posted a blog entry with New Zealand 3G coverage for iPad at launch... A good reminder for people before they buy the new device.

I got mine this morning and got a wifi + 3G model because I want the option of 3G. I was given a vodafone microsim when I purchased it but am not connecting to anything yet as I'm not prepared to lock in to any contract. Looking at those maps it is easy to see which one is already my preference!

Both Telecom and Vodafone offer prepay mobile data packs, and both offer iPad plans with no term contracts.

There's no terms contact with Vodafone's iPad plans. http://www.vodafone.co.nz/ipad/

Out of curiosity, what prevents you from using that microSIM in the new iPhone 4?

Tried, it doesn't allow calling or txting. In the end I just went back to my cut-down Vodafone sim.
