White models of Apple's new iPhone? 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.

I don't really care, I think the black one looks better anyway! :)

this is gonna annoy a lot of ppl, my friend who was set on the white iphone succumbed - he's getting a black lol

black looks so much more elegant :)

Seriously though, if you have a bumper on your iPhone, the back colour doesn't really show anyway, so it's not a huge deal to me.

id be seriously hacked off if the white iphone doesnt have as bad as attenagate problems as the black after i buy one.

Yea, read on some other forums on why the white one is taking so long.

One of the ''theories'' they came up with is that Apple is gonna fix the antenna issue then release the white one a few months later, market it as a ''new' product, then people will think the one they currently own is faulty hence run out and get one. Or the people that originally wanted the white will just settle for black as of now and buy another when white is released.

I have, however, read a few forums where people that were largely affected by the antenna issue had returned the phone and got new ones replaced where the antenna issue no longer exists or not as bad as the unit that was returned. So maybe they have fixed without publicly acknowledging it.

^I doubt they would market the white iPhone 4 as you specified above Gameowner. It would then mean there was a problem with the black iPhone 4s.

I do believe the new batches of iPhone 4 are going to gradually improve in terms of reception.

Well they've admitted the problem, so it's not like they're trying to hide the problems of the initial batch of iPhone 4's. Either way, I'm just reiterating what I read on other forums.

From what I've also read, the new batches do seem to be improving, so who knows, we might be lucky and get dips into those ''new batches'' - hopefully anyway.

The white delay from what I have read is the difficulty in getting consistent coloring of white in the composites for the back of the phone. It goes streaky when they try.
