Hi ya'll,
we're got another 4 mths in NZ - wanting to buy the wifey one of these gadgets -

will it work in Oz?
shall i buy it here or wait till we get there (eg costs, warranties etc??)?

Depends if they all of a sudden manage to roll out the new 4g network in the next 4 months ;-)

the iPhone 4 purchased in NZ will work in Aus.

It will work in Aussie as webup mentioned.

I would buy it in Australia as the plans are so much better making the iPhone 4 a very inexpensive "toy" to purchase:)

If you buy from a provider on a plan it will be subsidised yes, but also locked to that network. Buying it outright and unlocked from Apple will cost more or less the same as in NZ.

True, but Vodafone AU allows you to "unlock" it for $75 AUD. Which isn't really a deal breaker.

After 6 months however that $75 drops to $25 to unlock, using the Online functionality. Its $50 after 6 months if you used the Call Center.
