Hey people, I've finally decided to get an iPad.

This might sound like a stupid question but, what's the best way for me to go about it?

Apple Online Store? MM? VF?....etc

Is there any difference? (i.e. warranty, customer service..etc)

Also, I'm in Christchurch. Which carrier performs "better" on the iPad in my area?

It will be mostly used in Christchurch CBD when on 3G.

Vodafone doesn't sell the iPad. So I would go with the Apple store right now. Better service over Vodafone for sure!

VF don't have them. Apple takes 3 weeks to deliver. Don't know about coverage in CHCH but there are plenty of threads on GZ about what plans are better.

Doesn't matter where you getting the ipad, i think JBHIFI is $1 cheaper than the other places. however, personal i am perfer the online apple store, as you can have a track of all your orders, e.g. recepits etc.

Well, if you're in the Christchurch CBD then 1GB for $20 on 2degrees is cheaper than 250MB for $20 on Vodafone, or 240MB for $18 on Telecom.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Give JB's in Wellington a call, they had 20 left in stock late last week when I bought mine - 04 890 0861.

Thanks for the replies all. 2degrees looks very appealing.

Soon after I started this thread I began ringing Christchurch stores who stock iPads.

MagnumMac & DSE said they had no 3G units left [Nationwide?] (ETA 2-3 weeks)

HN wouldn't answer the phone so I went there in person. None left (SP told me they had sold 150-200 units since launch)

So I stopped by Noel Leeming. I was originally after a 32GB 3G unit.. they had none but had plenty of 64GB 3G.

I couldn't help myself... I walked out of the store with a 64GB 3G unit. No regrets.

FYI: DSE has 25% off 2 iPad accessories when you pre-order from them.

Have you tried HN or Noel Leeming?

EDIT:

Looks like NL don't have any 16GB 3G Nationwide.
