I have been given a new ipad as part long service gift from work. They were out of stock at DSE so they have given me an IOU. With the few days I now have to ponder I am now wondering i should go for this or thank them very much and chuck a few extra bob in to to get a new iphone instead.

I have an original iphone and love it to bits. I have been watching the ongoing debarcle that is the iphone 4 launch but still want one. The upgraded camera looks great. The only downside is that I am a lefty so should be more susceptible to the antennae problem.

Should i stick with an ipad or upgrade my iphone?

What can the ipad do that the iphone can't?

Your feedback is appreciated.

Neat gift! Question though: do you have a laptop that's portable? I so, go with an iphone 4. If you need to browse the net on the go, go with the iPad. I find the iPhone very useful as it's not big enough to make you walk into a wall or feel people are watching you:)

I say depends on what your going to do with it, like above, if you have a laptop already id go with the phone,

as for being a lefty, well ive gripped my phone everyway i can to get the bars to drop hasnt happened,( only had a few days though)

and if you get a case for it, should be no issues either.

Either way, buy Angry Birds after you have your device.

Go with the iPhone 4 actually. Wait until the iPad 2nd gen is out. In the meantime, a new phone is always needed:)

Thanks. Confirming my own preference. Phone 4 it is.

Already have angry birds so know how addictive it is.

Just need to come up with a gracious way of saying thanks but no thanks to work now so i can order the phone

DSE won't have iPhone 4 in store yet, would they?

If i had that option i wouldn't have asked the question.

How much memory does the new camera take up for a pictures and typical video. Figure the 32 is the better option.

Both, cos they are two different devices. Cheers

Always go forthe larger memory option...you can't upgrade it, so even if you don't use it all, it won't go to waste.

Easy fix for telling the workmates - they were out of stock and offered me a credit towards one of these "show iPhone" instead, so I accepted...but would've loved that iPad....

OK - to clarify...you can have higher bitrate music, add videos that you might not be able to have on there if you opt for the smaller memory device...

Videos that you shoot in HD will inevitably take up more space than you think...more space = more room for your media.

It'll never go to waste.
