Im hopefully getting an iPhone 4 next week and am just wondering where to get a case or at least a screen shield from.

No idea if the vodafone stores are selling them as the first mobile here in Nelson said they won't be getting any

Noel Leeming has some iPhone 4 Belkin cases.

They also have some Incipio Feather & Agent18 cases coming in. I ordered mine today.

Harvey Norman might also sell them but I haven't seen any yet. DSE hasn't got anything at the moment. (As far as Christchurch goes)

I had such a mission.

( cant help with where for you but)

Avoid the Cygnett silicon case, real rubbery, and cygnett anti glare screen protectors, they make the screen look blurry, go for clear belkin or similar.

Some would say dont bother with screen protector as its got gorrila glass, but id rather be safe than sorry.
Have a look at the other forum ' you have an iphone now what' might give you some ideas.

If you want the best screen protector just buy the Zag invisible they work and fit perfectly into the phone's screen. Also it does feel like you have not installed it yet,i mean it's a real just like you touch the original screen.there is a lot selling on trademe.

P/s this is not my trademe account....

I got the Best Skins Ever shield from trademe and it works great. You apply it wet and it takes about a day for the bubbles to dry out, but there's literally no dust under the screen protector at all compared to traditional skins.

In terms of a case, just get the free one that apple provides. Takes a while for delivery though.

I can confirm keepitwarm's comments on the Cygnett "bumper-alike" case/screen protectors. An utterly crap product.

The bumper seems too big so doesn't fit tightly enough, and is v sticky rubber so it's hard to get into pockets. The screen protector, as well as being blurry, is about 0.5mm too big and so pressure on its edge tends to lift it.

It'll all go in the bin once my free Apple bumper arrives (good vid review on iphonewzealand) and I will either chuck screen protectors away altogether or investigate the Zagg option.

Does an iPhone 4 actually need glass protection? Isn't this "Gorilla" glass supposed to be virtually scratchproof?

Thanks for the replys. I will be getting it in Christchurch ( hopefully a few more in stock by next weekend). Will have a look in noel lemming.

They said the iPod touch screen was ment to be scratch proof but I got a scratch on my first one.

Not a fan of silicone cases generally all of mine have been hybrid cases. Swicheasy neo and now a speck candyshell. Will probaly get another candyshell or a fitted eventually. But a screen shield will make me feel way more secure.

I purchased a case from Chillicase, after reading a positive review on iPhonewzealand. I won't be able to comment on performance until the iPhone turns up from the Apple store (currently estimated at 27th August), but I'm very happy with the prompt delivery (ordered Sunday arvo, arrived Tuesday morning). It also came with screen and logo protectors. Not quite sure why the logo needs special protection. Guess I'll have to wait until the 27th to find that one out too :-)

I intend to do that as well, but AFAIUI that can't be done until you actually have the iPhone, and then you're looking at a few weeks wait before it's delivered. Instead the iPhone will now be protected from day 1. And at $32 all up, I think the Chillicase + protector combo was actually pretty good value.

I got a black case mate barely there case from Vodafone at the same time when i got my iphone. It comes with a screen protector and the case feels solid and high quality. Its a little pricey at $35 but I'd imagine its on par with Belkin and such on price so its definitely worth it.

I wanted one till I saw some reviews of it and not a fan anymore. They put a cutout in for the sim card slot, the headphone jack extends most of the way along the top, the dock connector cut out is only just big enough to fit the apple cable and the carbon fiber back is just stuck to the back of the phone not attached to the case

I bought $10 screen protector from trademe, and it's waste of money. You got expensive phone, better get a decent screen film. I really regret my purchase..

Was really keen.. until reviews finally came out. Can't believe that carbon fibre back it just a sticker.
