I am in thailand right now and went for a walk through the MBK centre in Bangkok.

on the 4th floor there is a whole floor full of mobile phone shops and it is full of iphone 4 handsets.

There is no shortage at all in bangkok, every store I go into has them in bangkok.

Prices are about the same once you convert thai baht to NZ Dollars but you can bargin and get them down a little bit.

Are you sure they aren't just empty boxes?

How many phone shops stack up boxes of $1000 phones on the shop floor?  Not many(any) I can think of

I looked inside a couple and they werein there.
They also show the open boxes with the iPhones inside behind their glass cases.
I also saw some second hand ones for sale at a couple of places. They clean them up with soft toothbrushes and polish them up.saw them doing it while I was walking around.
No shortages in the land of smiles that sells anything you want !
