I'm a new iphone user - change prompted by desire to have multiple exchange email accounts on my phone, and other desired apps

I miss the feature on my blackberry where I could could just glance at the locked screen and see if I had any new emails

Do I really have have to JB my Iphone to customize the lock screen, this seems like a no brainer feature to me?

C'mon, you have to JB your iPhone to change the SMS tone to custom.

There's plenty of alternatives to the iPhone and i would recommend basically all of them :o

I have a corporate-issue iPhone (3G) and am not particularly happy with it... I wouldn't encourage iPhone adoption unless you're a Apple Fan(atic) or have some other peculiar reason to need the inflexible yet 'polished' ....

Yeh apple is like that. Remember wallpapers? Every other phone has had that feature since colour screens. But apple made us wait. Same with multi-tasking and copy & paste. People will always find a way to do it before apple does.

Add this to the list of iPhone weaknesses, Apple are really failing on. Also- home screen functionality, notification system, wireless syncing etc

FWIW once you do jailbreak, the lockscreen mods are very nice (though not as good what you find on android obviously). Couldn't live without this feature now and makes JB worth it.
