I just sold my iPod Touch as i now have my iPhone.

I just want to know what people think the best way to reset it so the new owner can set it up as a new iPod.

Best way would be to do a complete reset via the settings on the iPod then doing a restore and activating it as a new iPod in iTunes

Restore in itunes, but when itunes said its finished and leave ipod plugged in, remove USB cable and ipod will finish the install and reboot, and when it turns on it should say to connect to itunes. Just like a brand new one. So when the new owner gets it, they can just connect it to the computer and sync it with their library and name it themselves. I did that with my mates iPod, worked a treat. Its also impossible to brick them from my experience. I've had my computer reset from windows update during ipod restore, ipod shut off and I stuck it into DFU mode, restored and all back to normal.

Thanks I have done a restore.

Still can't believe that it sold so quick. Put it on trademe at 1pm at $270 with a buynow of 300 expecting to do a fixed price offer of $250. When I got home at 5 it was sold on buynow. For a 2nd gen 32gb

I'm keeping my 2G until the battery wears out. It's great for using gardening or playing games and web browsing and listening to books at bed time and stuff like that where I don't want to kill off my iPhone battery. I WAS going to pass it on to hubby but I missed it too much, lol.

I went to use it the otherday and I couldn't stand the screen on the iPod.

I know what you mean. I zoomed up as high as I could on the iPhone the other day just to see if I could see any pixels in the text. The screen is completely amazing.
