Hi

I currently have a non jail broken 3GS iPhone with iOS 3.1 (modem firmware 05.11.07). Are there any issues with doing the update to 4.1?

Will I loose teethering?

thanks

No, you won't lose tethering. You gain in terms of the new gaming centre and other bug fixes. I upgraded mine from 4.01 to 4.1 last night without any issues. In fact, other than the gaming centre app, I couldn't see any other visible changes.

Going from 3.1 to 4.1 on an 3GS you also gain multitasking and folders.

I work for a global Data Protection Software company - But my opinions are my own.

Hi - a couple of other changes which are useful (from 4.0 ->) a spell check is added for most input apps (a red underline is added to words that it thinks are incorrect & when tapped on a window pops up with word suggestions), and a very handy tweak to messaging is a character count window once your text goes over about 30 characters.
If you'd planned to JB at some stage, it would be best to hold off for a while.... but this is usually only because of baseband changes & not something that we usually have to worry about with our unlocked phones.

Cheers,
Mike
