I've just gotten an iPhone 4, and have upgraded it to 4.1, but for some reason if I'm off Wi-Fi, I cannot access the internet. All the APN settings are correct, I've tried resetting and restoring the phone, but nothing seems to work.

I'm on XT and I'm on a $1 a Day plan (I think)

And should the 3G symbol show up next to 'Telecom NZ' in the corner? Because mine doesn't , and isn't XT a 3G-only network?

you should see a '3G' symbol next to the Telco name yes.

Does it work on Edge data ? (turn on network data but not 3G so you see an 'E')

Sounds like a network issue maybe. I am on 2 Degrees and have no problems here.

I've had similar. Intermittent data over 3G. Resolved by turning
3G off (will.benefit too from less battery usage) :-)

Data is slower but benefit from no data issues and better battery life.

Tried that, but XT is 100% 3G so I end up with 'No Service'

Have you done a full restore, not just from the backup?
