Australian iOS users are going to be getting a software update to fix the daylight saving problem:

Do New Zealanders still have this problem? Maybe you should contact Apple australia.

As per the link below a fix is coming, but no one knows yet if it will be in iOS4.2 when that's released next month (in the 4.2 betas the issue is fixed) or if a standalone fix will be issued.
