A really weird thing has started happening to me today. When I am using Safari on my iPad to browse Facebook the pinch to zoom feature doesn't work. Pinching simply has no effect.

This problem is not occurring on any other web site, and has never occurred on Facebook until today.

Is this happening to anyone else? Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix it?

Would it be code inside facebook that is blocking it in some way? Old websites used to prevent people from right clicking in websites, using java, to try and stop images being copied.

I wouldn't have thought that it would be possible for a web site to override a feature that is native to the iOS software, but I'm no expert on this so maybe someone else can confirm or deny.

It's a feature of Safari to provide developers an option to disable the zoom feature if required. E.g. a site that should not zoom because it was designed for that size screen.

Okay, that must be the answer. Thanks.

I don't really see the reason behind it though. It seems to me that Facebook are achieving nothing, and just making it harder to navigate their site.

Well, this problem now appears to have righted itself just as quickly as it arose.
