I had a marked improvement when Apple finally did the iOS 4.1 update that helped improve the speed on my 3G but am now slowly seeing the same issues come back with delays in loading times.

It's especially getting worse in the "Settings" section where it can take 4 - 5 seconds to load a page.

Others having the same problem?

Any thoughts on solving it beyond a complete reset which I'll do as a last resort?

Yeah, mine's been slowing down significantly again. My contract is up in feb and at this stage I am seriously considering either an android or WP7 phone.

I finally gave in and jailbroke my 3G. There are things I wanted it to do that iOS promised - such as connecting a bluetooth keyboard - that it turns out will only work if you're using a phone 3GS or higher. So in disgust I jailbroke it and downloaded an application at does it - and it works perfectly.
