Yes, iPhones are already unlocked when purchased in NZ but you can also use an already unlocked iPhone purchased abroad in NZ

Buy it from the Apple Store (NZ) or Vodafone / its resellers and it will be unlocked

Thank for the quick reply. But can I use one of my Vodafone Prepaid Sim Card on the phone? Because the size of the Sim Card is different.

You can either cut your sim down (not for the feint hearted) or request a microsim from vodafone as I'm sure they'd swap it for you, I know both XT and 2degrees will do this so I am sure Vodafone are the same.

Just be aware none will swap it for free - they all charge a fee for a micro sim.
