Hi there, my iPhone battery seems to run flat in less than a day. I do switch things off like 'push' etc but it's life isn't what it use to be. Anyone got any tips? and anyone one know how much a replacement is? Its no longer under warranty but it is insured. Maybe i should lose it and upgrade?

Day a great day all

Might be worthwhile doing a search on Trademe for "Iphone Battery Replacement".

There are a few sellers there who offer the battery for $24.99 and add another $5 or so for installation at time of pickup.

You dont need to be concerned with voiding any warranty as you mention your phone is already out of warranty.

Check there feedback or ask permission to email a previous buyer as a reference to check the quality of their product/workmanship.

Sometimes my i3G goes nuts and starts sucking the juice like crazy, and the battery gets crazy hot. This all happens just sometimes - a while after I've been doing data/or maps.

If this happens - I restart it by holding in the sleep button until the 'slide to power off' indicator appears on the screen, then power down, and then switch on again. That sorts it out.

You could try that once a day for a while and see if it makes a difference.

At times when I'm using a lot of apps I restart once a day every day. It prevents other annoying iOS problems which I won't go into just now...

There are some more serious reset methods you could try if you want to. I have not used these so far.

Hope this helps :  )
