I have the latest version of sygic aura (2.1) on my iphone 3gs and its pretty good software however it hogs the battery.
In the car with the phone plugged into the card charger (cigarette lighter) it still drains the battery faster than it can charge.

So it drains the battery flat after a couple of hours.
I notice the phone gets pretty hot as well.

I have both external and battery gps setting set to 'optimised'.
If I change it to power saver you get reduced gps accuracy.

Anyone else experiencing this or has suggestions

Thanks

All gps apps hit the battery hard

Get a charger that is compatible with 1A charging a 3GS. (check out the belkin ones). Most chargers will only charge at 500mA, apple did some tricky stuff with voltages on certain pins 3GS onwards. See http://www.ladyada.net/make/mintyboost/icharge.html

Direct an airvent at your phone if possible.
