A quick search on GZ and I find Skyfire is either no longer supported in NZ, no longer available for download, or that the TVNZ site is not supported.

However, when i go to the Skyfire site and run a "video test" it says the TVNZ OnDemand sites are supported... and it's available on the appstore in every country except for China.

Can anyone with this app confirm this for me? This is what will sway me to get an iPad2 when they are released, or I guess I could think about jailbreaking for real Flash...

No, TVNZ OnDemand does not work on Skyfire. You'll receive an error message if you attempt to use it.

What about TV3 On Demand? Can anyone confirm whether that works?

That is not good news, I wish the TV stations coded in HTML5! Better yet, I wish there was an OnDemand app... though I guess Apple wouldn't like that...

Why not? TV3 already have an iPhone app and I'd love to see them develop an iPad app.

But its just for news, is it not? I would like to be able to watch on demand stuff on an iPad.. I might just have to keep an eye out for a decent Android tablet

FYI, my post was a reply to one above yours alasta, I forgot to quote it.

Tried it, and again no.  It just plays the 3 second TV3 branding video, and that's it.

Thanks - I figured that would probably be the case. I know that TV3 limit their On Demand service to NZ IP addresses, and I guess Skyfire's Flash to HTML5 translation servers are probably based overseas which would be a show stopper.

Ahh I see, so we need an NZ version of Skyfire... I hope a dev is reading this, I'm sure there is a big enough market for it to make some money.

Or TV3 could just roll out an iPad compatible service so that we don't have to rely on a workaround. There must be reasonable demand for it now.

Have just set up a support ticket on the skyfire support pages here:

http://getsatisfaction.com/skyfire_for_iphone/topics/a_server_with_a_new_zealand_or_insert_other_country_here_ip_address

Go give it some hits/comments.

If you REALLY want TVNZ and TV3 on demand, consider an Android tablet or phone.  Android v2.2 or later with an ARM7 processor.

Both of these On demand TV services work fine on my Samsung Galaxy S and Nexus One phones via wifi or 3G. Any of the new Android tablets coming out will also support Flash natively (Acer is launching a 10,1" tablet in a few days. Samsung already have the 7" Galaxy Tab...which is also a phone).

I know this is an iOS forum....but if you want to access these services on a mobile device without any issues, there are options that allow you to do it.

(Back in my box now).
