Hi everyone, I'm running an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.33.
We have a large house, so we have two wireless access points. One is the Thomson TG585v8 that we got when cabinetised, the other is an older Linksys router that is simply in bridging mode and connects via an Ethernet over Power Adapter.
The access points share the same SSID, and when connected to either, the iPhone picks up the same IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server. Every other thing I want to use works flawlessly irrespective of the AP I'm connected to.
I installed Shairport4w on our Windows 7 box we use for all our media content, and want to use Airplay to stream content from my iPhone to it. If I am upstairs, and the Media Center and iPhone are sharing the same AP, it all works flawlessly. If I am not on the same AP, it doesn't.
Is this just how it is? And given that all the credentials of the two APs are absolutely identical, what breaks it?
Thanks for any thoughts.
