So I'm looking at the Ipad prepaid data plans from all the providers, and from what I can find online...

Vodafone - $20 - 250Mb
Telecom- $30 - 500Mb
2 Degrees - $20 - 1Gb

It seems the 2 degrees pricing is by far the best out of the lot.  Is there any catch I should be aware of?

Depends exactly what your usage is. Telecom's XT pricing is the best if you're only an erratic casual user since data is charged at 10c per MB. If you only use 100MB for a month you'll only pay $10.

Remember 2degrees pricing only applies to areas they have their own network so Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. Outside of those areas they use Vodafone's network and its $10 per 100MB

Hi,

Not sure about the other 2, but the 2degrees plan requires you to use the data within 30 days. After that period, it will be lost.

Wow, that is certainly quite a catch, as I am in Hamilton, thanks for that.

It will be fairly consistant uses, mainly for my business emails and documents.

Don't get yourself locked into a contract just because of that. Sites are going up in Hamilton as we speak.

Also, it's Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, not Dunedin.

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Will be going on prepaid, at least until I get an idea of my usage.

Any idea on timeframes for Hamilton?

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Not something I can discuss at the moment, sorry. However, you can draw your own conclusions from the fact that equipment is being installed. :-)

Do it, and if you decide to use your phone as a calling device; you will not be disappointed.

Kind of obvious, but don?t forget that the ipad also works over WiFi.

You might find yourself using a lot less data than you think if the majority of your use is in places where there is free WiFi, such as in your own home.

Yeah for sure, I'm trying to convince work to give me access to the "contractors wifi" which will mean, I wont really need the 3g at all

On a side note; Is there a way you can test to see if you're in the cheap zone for 2d? I mean if you're operating on the fringes of the coverage map?

Buy a SIM and try it out.

If you have a telecom prepay sim you can add a smartphone extra, comes with 500megs of data and 2500 texts total $38 for a month.
However due to the way it's charged, if you don't use any texts, you only pay $24 for the 500 megs of data.
