Hi,

My erstwhile partner has bought herself an iPhone 4. She sync'd it to her old work account (Exchange) and has all the contacts on the phone.

Then she left that job and of course doesn't have access to the Exchange account any more. When she tries to delete the account, from the Utilities - Mail section, it warns her that this will delete all the related contacts to the account.

So...

The question is how do I get a copy of ALL the iPhone contacts off the phone before I delete the old account then how do I restore them back.

I've tried outlook, but that hasn't worked.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

In the past I've used gmail to get contacts off of an iphone with a broken dock connector

If you set up gmail as an exchange account by follow this link:
http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740

By setting it up as an exchange account not a gmail account you can backup your contacts to gmail

Then once the phone is reset you can just use this method to sync back.

Hopefully this helps, althou I'm sure some of the more astute apple users may have an easy itunes method.

Cheers
