Thanks for the heads up, just bought a 16gb Wifi + 3g for the parents. Not often you see iPads discounted so great deal, the 3g one's include a free micro sim with $30 credit too so even cheaper!

Cheers

Had a looksee and they sold out pretty early, with only 100-200 sold when they sold out.......... unless Apple has really low stock numbers for clearance I don't think we'd see an ipad 3 that soon.

You would also feel a bit ripped off if they did buy an ipad 2, for a new one to be released so soon afterwards. The only reason they would is if they improved the screen resolution. They are hardly going to release the iphone 5, ipod touch 5, and refresh ipods, as well as an ipad 3 all in october.

I don't think apple will release a new version of iPad soon. Based on the Apple upgrade cycle, the next version of iPad will be out March next year.

Also why would apple upgrade something this quickly when the competitors haven't yet caught up, and the ipad2 was quite a big upgrade in terms of processing power.. You can understand why they need to update the iphone urgently though.

Caught up? I think the iPad needs to catch up with everything else, if I wasn't stuck with iTunes for my iPad and iPhone I would be all over the Asus transformer or 1 of the others that are out there.
