Are there any SMS filtering apps available for an iPhone that isn't jailbroken?

Thanks,
Mark

I believe Apple doesn't allow third party access to SMS on iPhone.

Perhaps you could try the old trick of calling them (after all you are using a phone) and asking them to stop.

Thanks SteveON but in this case calling them isn't an option. I'm receiving multiple spam txts from a UK number (probably fake) at all hours. Turning off the phone at night also isn't an option as there are times I need to be in contact. Mark

What operator? On Vodafone you can block SMS by number through their web site.

Hey Tony thanks for the reply, didn't think I missed anything but ever hopeful. If the spam txts keep up I may be forced to go Android. Really like the iOS, it seems crazy that I'd be forced to make this sort of change because of something like this...

Great suggestion but unfortunately it doesn't work for international numbers...

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Maybe contact your service provider directly then?

Android has a metric butt-load of SMS apps to do anything and everything. In that respect, it is absolute paradise.

On iOS, can you just assign a different SMS tone (of silence or something non annoying) for this one number, by listing them as a contact?

If it's these UK Apple/RIM/Nokia lottery texts than the source numbers are constantly changing so there would be little point making them a contact and muting their ring tone

OP clearly states "a" number. So I still think my flag is worth running up this particular pole.
