so i deleted Viber n was intending on reinstalling but when I go to the App Store it shows as 'Downloaded' n I can't seem to 're-download' it.....

thoughts and advice?

Have you looked in the 'Purchased' items under 'Updates' to see if it will let you install it from there?

when i go to the Purchases screen (by which i guess you mean clicking on Apps n it displays what Apps we have downloaded)...where would I go next to check? I right click on Viber icon and just get the following:

Get Info

Show in Windows Explorer

Delete

(maybe if i choose delete i can re download it from iTunes???)

Just do it direct on the iPhone

App Store >> Updates >> Purhased >> Viber

Or of course just install it on your iPhone again from the copy you have in iTunes. I very much doubt the one in iTunes will have a problem, it will just be the install on your iPhone that didn't work for some reason.

Are you using iOS 5? if so this may help

If you go into settings -> General -> Usage. You should see a entry called Storage. this will list all the apps installed on your phone and how much space they take up. If Viber is still installed then it should show up on the list. You can click on the app and then click delete app. It could be that Springboard has gotten confused and just deleted it from your home screen with out deleting the app. Unlikely but possible.

If this does not work have you tried a restart? Hold down the home and sleep wake button at the same time and keep on holding them down till the phone turns off and then starts up don't use the slider asking to turn the phone off or this will not be a restart

+1 Once in purchased you can also only show applications that are not installed on your device but have downloaded at some point.
