What do you mean whats the deal?

Im assuming you know what features it offers - the app store and the apps website do a good job of that.

It works.

Sorry for the random post, what I should have asked is does it impair the performance or battery life of the iPhone4 & is it easy to use compared with the normal method of ringing/texting via Telco provider. Thanks

No more so than any other reasonably well developed application.

As easy as stock calling and messaging.

I looked at it and decided I would not touch it due to their privacy policy.

Do a search for viber privacy.

This is definitely a case of 'If you are not paying for it, then you are the product.'

There was something about Vibers security Policy mentioned by them in the Viber thread under Android, and their Policy is stated here, http://viber.com/privacypolicy.html personally I cant see anything wrong with it.
