I'm helping a friend set up an ipod touch for her son as a Christmas present and while creating the account via the ipod Touch, lets just say she entered an incorrect year for his birth, which made the creation process reject it because he was too young. In attempting to recreate this with amended information, it became obvious that the original information was cached somewhere because it has continued to reject.

Anyone have any idea if this info is cached on the device itself, or is it held at Apple somewhere? I have tried clearing the browser cache on the Ipod Touch (even although I wasn't sure that Safari was actually even involve in this process). If it is the latter, is there a timeout process after which the info is no longer retained at Apple.

Actually found a workaround. Create the account via iTunes on a PC, then log in on the iTouch. All good.

Grrrr! It isn't an iTouch - It's an iPod Touch!.
Apple gave it a name, and everyone ignores it.
