I am guessing that the iPhone is showing up a Yellow Triangle in Device Manager.

In the device manager, try uninstalling the iPhone's drivers (while it is plugged in). Then un plug it and then plug it back in to allow windows to do its plug n play driver installation magic.

Hi - I can only add things that you have probably tried already too - restart the computer, restart the iPhone, try an updated version of iTunes (if there is a more recent one) and maybe try restarting the iPhone while it is connected to the computer with iTunes running.... good luck.

Cheers,

Make sure iTunes is installed correctly
DFU doesn't work without it
