Received my iPhone 4S a couple of weeks ago and have noticed that when I use the 'NZ Herald' app on wifi, and switch out of it to another app, my wifi access point drops out and I have to reset my router to get it working again. This happens across my whole home network making all of my computers unable to access the net. It almost seems to corrupt my whole network. Halting all traffic.
I am using a D-Link DSL 502-T modem with a TP Link WR-541G wireless router using wireless G. Some computers are wired and some wireless laptops.
It only happens when I use this app.
Anybody else having this problem? before I contact their support?

Some (All) routers have some bugs...

For example with the Black Siemens 6520 if you try and make a call via Skype.. the Router reboots :-)

Look on DLink's website and see if there is upgraded firmware for your router..

I'd wager updating the TP Link WR-541G firmware to the latest will resolve the issue, most devices have a few bugs in their early firmware versions.

Check the sticker on the bottom of the device for what version/revision it is then hit up the TP Link website to download the latest firmware.

Updating the firmware is done via an option in the admin website for the device. Also I would make sure you are plugged in via lan cable for the update rather than wireless.
