Whenever I have upgraded my OS, it wipes the Telecom SIMs APN address, making the SIM unusable until the APN address is manually retyped in. It occurred when I upgraded to IOS5.0, and again when I upgraded to IOS5.1. It is really annoying, because both times I have spent quite a bit of time trying to work out why I had lost my internet connection. Anyone else experiencing this problem after upgrading, and is it an ipad IOS software problem or a problem with telecom sims?

My iPhone updated itself to 5.1 (I'm on XT) and worked fine.

You should be able to just connect your iPad to iTunes and it will automatically update the carrier settings.

My iPhone continue to work OK (on a Telecom SIM) after upgrading to IOS 5.1 - i.e. all carriers settings were maintained/updated automatically.

However, on my iPad, I lost the APN settings upon upgrading to IOS 5.1 (also on a Telecom SIM), and have to manually enter it.

Hi you may not have had our Carrier bundle on the iPad, to force it manually insert the APN information, then go into Settings, General and then About.. You should get a popup advising of Update to carrier settings, click OK/Update to accept them.  Or you can connect to iTunes and you should receive the same message.
