The classic Casio BG-15 scientific calculator with boxing game from mid-late last century. Made in Japan, 1980-1982.

Collectors item, as evidenced on eBay eBay and Trademe.

In as new condition, no signs of wear, hardly ever used, seems to have spent most of its 40 years of life hidden away waiting for today.

Identical item Trademe Buy Now $225, eBay $NZ151 plus delivery.

Geekzone collector geeks price $120 incl overnight courier.

My first calculator was a Casio CP801c (the b model had square root, missing on the c model). This was in 1975. Seems to be available on eBay for around US$ 25 plus shipping. Might try getting one.

My first scientific calculator was the venerable Casio FX-82. It was on the mandatory list for my science and maths classes so everyone at school had one. Then in my first year of university I upgraded to a Sharp EL-557. I would love to pick up another one of these in working order. I lost this one about 15 years into my career when I moved OS.

I remember this one too!

I was born in '67 and never owned a calculator until I got to college and it was mandatory to have one for maths.

My father had a few old ones that I bet were thrown out when they moved house 12 years ago. I seem to remember one having little bulbs or something similar for the display.

I purchased an HP 11C when they first appeared this replaced my beloved 41cx that succumbed to an unfortunate death under a car wheel. That was back when I was doing NZCE at CIT in 81, 40yrs ago.

The 11c is still on my desk right now, used daily as I am not allowed my mobile phone at my desk so cannot use the RealCalc RPN app on my phone.

The 11c still works perfectly, interesting to see younger office members look at my old calculator, first stunned by its age, then totally confused by RPN.

This was the original. I had one and loved it. Never really got the boxing one

There's also the rare T version, featuring nothing other than more vibrant graphics - that was it, nothing else.

A fashion started by Holden's Commonwealth Games Special Edition Belmont perhaps? Didn't the Special Edition moniker come about because of a red & a blue body stripes? Other than that it was your standard poverty-pack Belmont, struggle-steer & all.

Here's my list of old products

my first calculator (i would have been aboout 8? maybe) pretty sure i tried to summon space ships with this.

I though i was pretty cool with this calulator watch when i was around 11

The obligatory secondary school issue fx82 in about '83 which was promptly lost

then upgraded with the much flasherer lol fx411
