I'm looking for an Android tablet to serve as Home Assistant Wall Display.

E.g. a Lenovo M10 FHD or similar. Doesn't have to be top specs, but the current 10 year old tablet just doesn't handle it.

~9-10 inch, 4+ GB memory, and quad+ core processor.

IME most people have an overinflated sense of value on old lowspec tablets and you would be better off going for a current cheap lenovo or one of the kogan ones as that gets you a new battery and hopefully software updates for a little while.

True. So many tablets on TradeMe with very old tablets starting at $100

There are a couple of $1 reserves that are interesting.

I don't care about a battery as it will be plugged in 24/7 (yes, I have it on schedule that it discharges automatically). Software updates are important to a certain degree, but it is indeed a good reason to go new.

@richms do you have experience with Kogan tablets? I've used it only for Kogan Mobile and my experience wasn't good. I also don't have good experience with no-name tablets from Aliexpress.

Kogan has a nice looking 10 inch tablet for $179 which seems like a good deal, but I don't have time to fiddle around with issues.

I have a Lenovo M10 Plus FHD that is surplus to requirements. It's 2 years old, but hardly used - maybe had 10-20 battery cycles.  Tablet itself in perfect condition but the folding case has a minor scuff/tear.  Original box if you want it

Let me know if it's of interest and how much it's worth to you

Not extensive first hand usage on one, but a friend got one for their kids because they kill tablets like crazy and it worked for what they needed which was to download videos to and play crap games to keep kids entertained. It seemed on par with a budget tablet from elsewhere but with slightly nicer branding on it.

My main plus is the ease of returns to them if it is a piece of crap that dies, vs aliexpress being a no chance of return as mightyape and dicksmith are obliged to honor CGA requirements.
