Rumours of the 5800X3D being relaunched as a 10th anniversary chip for AM4.
Might be available soon if you don't have any luck.

Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.
I want one of these too.. a 5800x3d or a 5700x3d. I am hoping to get a 10th Ann re-launch one if this all happens... watching the news.
Trying to get one of those on trademe at the mo is about $700. I would expect to see it around 500-600nzd if we get the re-launch.
If the price difference isn’t too excessive then get the 5800x3d if you can. It clocks at 4.45GHz all core while the 5700x3d tops out at 4.05GHz. Everything else is the same, though the binning is probably better for the 5800x3d.
Yeah they are as rare as hens teeth at the moment, even AliExpress they are very expensive. Wait for the 5800x3d re-release I think
I too have heard about the probable 10th anniversary 5800X3D, and while I am kinda interested...I expect they'll be around $1,000 NZD and I'm really not keen on that kind of price, might as well jump straight up to AM5 then. Not to mention, the difference between the 5700X3D and 5800X3D, isn't huge enough for me to really get behind it. But even 5700X3Ds, the occasional one I find out there, are asking $800+. It's a wild time out there for PC parts
It’s interesting I’ve had a look out for a 5800x3d or 5700x3d over the last 3 months. Most go for around $700 but the odd one goes for around $550. The recent rumours of an anniversary model has created some more movement of these. Hard to know what to do, buy second hand or wait to see if an anniversary version materialises.
An example of a recent 5800x3d sale for around $550

i think I’ll wait and hope for an anniversary edition. I don’t think it will be more than $700.
You reckon not more than $700 NZD? I dunno, I think you might be dreaming but...well it's a pleasant dream so I might dream with you. Maybe it'll be a nice surprise lol 😆
5800x3d has been announced as being available from June 25!! I wonder if it will show up in NZ, here's hoping!

Now AMD is profiting once again from the crisis that they themselves helped cause. 😁

Of course, par for the course unfortunately. I was however sticking with AM4 for a while anyways.
On the bright side, this at least this may help drive down the price of pre-loved 5800X3Ds from the $700+ I've been seeing
I would not be surprised if they show up here at the same price they did back in 2022, or possibly more. Roughly $800nzd when I got mine.
They run hot thanks to the 3d cache layer between the cooler and cores so if you get one make sure to have a cpu cooler with good contact to IHS. Otherwise a -20 curve offset and/or PPT/EDC/TDC of 90/60/90 to mimic eco mode and bring power use down on heavy tasks.
General reminder that the 5800X3D is back on sale tomorrow in NZ for anybody watching this space.
Yeh im watching this space.
I currently got an x570-F motherboard,
48GB DDR4 3200
RTX3080
and a 3700x...
The GPU is being held back in gameplay big time.. I am considering this as an option. I have had the 3700x since september 2019.... so its 7 years old now.
My options are get one of these 5800x3d's and be content with the machine for a bit. Or wait it out and get a whole AM5 or Intel Ultra build. Will need to fork out for the DDR5.
Still deciding...
I think these 5800x3d's are gonna be about $730 NZD.
