Does anyone have a spare working Unifi switch lying around I can buy?
Preferably 16 ports and ideally with some POE but will consider anything.
Can pickup from Auckland.

Watch the old US 16 PoE 150W models - there are many that have the powersupply on the way out or dead. I have 2 that have failed. Its just a capacitor that's been baked but its a prick to get to because its under the heatsink in the power supply and needs a specific sized one to replace it with.
What was happening was random restarts of it at night at first when the cameras were using more power. then it would restart during the day as well and the ports the cameras were on ended up not getting power because it thought they were overcurrenting (I am guessing lower voltage so current went up. Then it would boot but I couldn't run anything on it, then it stopped booting.

I know enough to be dangerous
Probably a bit overkill, but I have a USW-Pro-Max-16-PoE I would part with with a 3d printed rack mount. Would let it go for $650 to your door from Dunedin, but as I say, fairly high end and probably not what you're looking for.

We've got 2x USW-16-POE that are surplus to requirements. $375 each including shipping nationwide. 90 day warranty. I believe they were both used for just under a year before being stored.

Thanks guys,
both would have been alright options tbh.
I ended up having to run into PBTech to pickup a replacement so am up and running for now and probably don't need another anymore.
Would have totally jumped on one of those USW-16-POE switches though.
@Dynamic are you Auckland based?

Yes, they have been used many times for weird gear at work that needed board level stuff.
I can do it myself, but at this stage the switch isn't needed as I have the cameras all on a grotty cheap old linksys PoE switch that has 100 meg powered ports with gig uplink, which is enough for me.
Once I get the nice white rack up in the shed, the linksys wont fit so I will have to fix or replace the cap in the switch and probably stick a fan inside it blowing over the PSU to help it not do it again.
