How old is your 5s?

Bought in NZ?

They are covered for two years if it was bought in NZ.

Even after that if you call and talk to Apple they may help you out.

Laggy iDevices can often be cured by

1. backing up to computer (removes a bunch of files that aren't taken by iCloud backup)
2. grab iTools (it's free, specify English version in your Google search unless you read Cantonese) & run the optimisation tool.
3. press both Home & Power buttons until your iDevice flashes off & restarts.
4. Pr0fit.

The first 2 steps are minor preparations for the third step which is pretty much a cure-all for misbehaving iDevices.

Another way to clear unused system files from clogging up your storage,  is to try to download a really large App, that is larger than the storage left on teh device. Then if it downloads delete it. This will then clear up a lot of the unused cached system files. I can usually clear at least 500MB this way. A pity Apples doesn't have a button that lets you clear it manually

No, you don't need to optimise through iTools. I would though, for 2 reasons -

1. it's not going to do any harm

2. iTools is an excellent iDevice manager - what iTunes could be / should be, but isn't. I don't know of one function that iTunes does better. Things like the ability to add just 1 (or 2 or 10 or X) photo/video/song instead of re-sync the entire damn library. & more, much more.

The home site is http://itools.cn, the English versions are posted on

Sorry to resurrect this thread, anyone looking at offloading an Iphone 5s ? 16Gb if possible.

Looking to replace my wife's Iphone 4, whilst working perfectly, doesn't have the 5ghz wifi tech, which she needs to do facetime recording to a Win PC.

The 2.4ghz wifi cant seem to handle stutterless bi-directional comms, and I'm hoping that the 5Ghz wifi will be up to the task.

Cheers

I have one for sale 64gb but lightning port is dodgy. I'll check with Apple first if there's anything they can do.
