martyyn - your last line really sums it up, hope everything goes well for you, and please keep us updated. It would be a real shame to have iffy sellers in geekzone, after all, that's what Trademe is for ;-)

Martyyn - if you get stuck, pm me - I have a D610 that has a fried graphics card at the office that I could pillage parts for you out of. Can't remember if the battery is any good or not though.

Thanks for the replies (and offer fastmikey).

There may well be a perfectly reasonable explanation. Ive been 'off the map' before with family emergencies, life happens and if thats the case he just has to let me know and he can take all the time he wants.

Other forums Im on let you know when someone last logged in, but I cant see anything on here. Knowing whether or not he had read the PM's would give me an indication of where I stand.

We decided not to show when users logged in for the last time.

Unfortunately there isn't much we can do in this situation. Please keep us updated with the latest and we will see what actions we will take after.

No worries - I'd rather see it get some use then get chucked! :-)

Good luck...

I have just logged in since selling you the laptop and first i've seen of all this... unfortunately i have been away burrying my grandad as you were a where of martyn that he was sick and that was why there were initial delays which didnt quite go as you have detailed and seems we left that part out.

But none the less, it is my fault as I assumed the laptop was the same as the last one being the same model and we originally bought them all same at same time. Also strange about the battery as this was tested and charged up before you bought it.

I do not have any of these left. I can see above you may have resolved this?

I just want to put a line under this by responding to Dave's previous post as I feel there are comments in there which are a little unfair. Its now been more than two weeks since Dave offered to replace the laptop via PM (and surprise surprise Ive heard nothing more) so I feel justified in putting the record straight.

Whilst you mentioned at one point your Grandad was ill I was certainly not aware he was dying. I genuinely feel for you, I really do, but its a little harsh to say I knew all about it.

I also think its harsh for you to say I hadnt mentioned it in my previous posts when its really not my place to put your personal situation on a public forum whether I knew about them or not.

What I did post was if there was a personal issue you were welcome to tell me and you could have all the time you wanted, but that hasnt happened either.

In our conversations for both this and the previous laptop I had bought from you, you have had several excuses for not having been in touch and they have included 'Im stuck in Masterton at a friends 21st party with no money', 'I dont have any money to put petrol in my car', 'I have been mugged and have no money to get to Wellington' and 'sorry I didnt come into Wellington after all'.

After having agreed to buy the second laptop (paying your asking price with no question) you kept me hanging on for over a week whilst you tried to get other people to give you cash upfront. After telling you I wasnt going to play that game, you came back to me when they all fell through. I shouldve trusted my gut-feeling and walked away.

I was willing to meet you anywhere, at any time, and put cash in your hand. Even cancelling previous commitments to meet you on the one occasion you said you would make, but failed to turn up to.

So Im left with a laptop with no working wireless, a smaller drive and a fried battery because I honestly have no desire to try and work this out even if you were to get back in touch.

So Ive learnt the hard way....you can have your fingers burnt regardless of the forum.
