yes done that, it even shows a bar jumping up and down sending the sound to "HDMI(Receiver)"

do you have the reciever on the right input for the TV?

our one at work is audio1 not any of the HDMI's

Ok my bad, the TV also has a dedicated ARC HDMI socket, swapped to that one and now there is sound.
