I know it's a long shot, but thought they are old enough now that someone may have one just lying around in their wardrobe.

Would be used to put some life into an old machine without throwing the lot out (which just seems wasteful).

So, i'm looking for a Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 X2. If you have one, let me know how much you'd like for it.

I may possibly have a Sempron lying around, I'll have a look tonight. Does your motherboard support these? From memory some earlier 939 boards didn't.

Thanks for the offer, I think i'd be looking for something with a little more power (ideally a dual core).

A quick look on the net for what I think the motherboard is, and there is no mention of Sempron support.
