Can you join any pool with those or only their own pool?

How do you get paid (as in do you have a website to check your balance and send to your account/wallet)?

How much each if not on Trade Me?

Yes you can add to any pool the same way you can with any mining device (fpga/gpu/asic).
Most people run CGMiner. I'm sure the easy to use Java based Bitminter https://bitminter.com can use them, but I have not tested. If it doesn't now, it will soon.

I used to use Bitminter with my other miners, just because it's so easy to use, and very stable.

Easiest way is to set up a online wallet here: https://blockchain.info/wallet/

I'm not sure how much I want for them. I have the $1 reserve one, and 3 others.
I paid maybe $330-360 each in an early group buy.

$300 is expensive. If this was something around $50 I'd think of it. The return in one of these is almost non-existent compared to the investment.

Nobody would ever sell one of these to you for $50.

Nice exaggeration on return. It's $34.80 per month right now, also with resale value.
Yes difficulty will rise, but so will the BTC price.

I know people won't sell for $50. But that's how much I think one of these are worth. A $34.80 return a month? Is this discounting energy usage?

There are plenty of low power devices to run miners off.

Raspberry Pi at ~2 Watts idle for example.
There are also routers you can run miners off which are very low power.

Average Electricity Price in NZ: 27c kilowatt/hour

Cost to run for 1 year = $5.91

Bitcoin revenue = $417.60

Return on investment if sold after 1 year.
if bought for $50 = 922%
if bought for $300 = 237% 
if bought for  $4000 = 10%

Assuming capital value of device doesn't decrease over the year.

Internet router already running using USB port to connect - Add $0 to power cost
(or) Rasperbery Pi always on - Add ~$6 to power cost

So we can easily adjust for this using additional cost of having a Pi running.

Return on investment if sold after 1 year.
if bought for $50 = 910%
if bought for $300 = 235% 

Not a big difference in the numbers...

If you don't have those then you still have to buy. I am thinking from the perspective of someone who has nothing and want to start. The return may not be enough if you have to buy something. But if you invest in four or five of those and run of a USB Hub like the one you linked before then scale kicks in and it starts being a good proposition.
