Couldnt one of you clever people build a trademe like, classified type, amazon kind of, ebay site to post all this stuff just for geekzone??
There always seems to be a lot of bits and bobs on here
Wasn't it eBay that was coded in afternoon?

There are classified services around - and Trade Me. I don't think there's a need to create a service like this just to serve Geekzone... and even if eBay was created in one afternoon, I am pretty sure it took a lot longer to get to the point where it is now.

Somebody did build such a site in just an afternoon. It's called Wheedle and I hear it's working really well.

ROFL.

What about Sella (yes, they closed down, couldn't get the competition going)?

What about Geta (never heard of it? Neither did I, probably neither did the people you want to see your listings)?

What about Listselltrade (another one that started and it seems dead)?

Please, don't tell me a classified or auction site is a good idea in New Zealand...

LMAO to the comment s above A sound bite of coded in a afternoon is so catchy though.?
Weve talked about this before and NZ does not need another Trademe
As for wheedle or weedle or whatever its called  whoever did the marketing process on that one needs to be fired
who names a sales company a name with a definition like this
whee·dle  /'(h)wedl/ Verb
  1. Employ endearments or flattery to persuade someone to do something or give one something: "you can wheedle your way onto a court".
  2. Coax or persuade someone to do something.

BUT (standing back for the flack)

I think there is a place for targeted classifieds

I think we need something real, like all these classified printed in a book we can pick up weekly at dairies and petrol stations. We could call it Exchange and Trade, or something like that...

What's wrong with the current dedicated forum here for buying and selling?

That link shows a mod that basically adds a template for the forum topic, then continues as the normal forum discussion. There's some feedback there, etc.

While is interesting, there's a lot of stuff behind this in terms of safety, legal that is better leave to Trade Me than to a discussion forum.

Intermediate step, is there an advanced search option on GZ to say you only want results from this particular section?
