Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you.

You could just buy a $20 mouse from PB Tech and ditch the mouse?

You can try contact Logitech Support and let them know. In most circumstances, they may be able to send a replacement out at no cost, or minimal. If you don't want to deal with the Logitech Support, the easiest is to get a cheap Unifying mouse and keep the mouse spare.

I'd still try Logitech support. I haven't had cause to deal with them lately, but they always used to be more than accommodating for reasonable requests.

They sell them on ebay for about US$10 (last time i checked).

Just be careful when "buying a $30" mouse. I recently bought a M187 mouse thinking it has a unifying receiver but it doesnt come with one - its a nano receiver but is not compatible with unifying stuff :( I found this out when I tried to pair my M500 series mouse with it.

I needed a spare as I manged to damage one that was in my laptop bag.

Also, I had our procurement guy ring his NZ supplies and no one could get a spare.

Yeah, I think the cheapest mouse that has a unifying receiver is the M325 at about $35 - $40.

Yup, just checked ebay, loads of them for US$9 with free shipping.

Also, funnily enough you can order them on the Logitech website, just not in NZ :(

The time that I had to deal (twice) with Logitech Support, they've been very accommodating.

First time, the AC adaptor for my Harmony H880 blown, so they send a replacement free even though it's few years after the warranty.

Second time, the battery for the same Harmony H880 was bloated, they sent out a new battery for free.

But both occasions did involved a bit of wait time and series of back and forth communication, but it's not terrible. The communications were not of dispute other than gathering as much information for RMA.

If you have a Twitter account, you can try contacting them @logitech as they're pretty pleasant to deal with.

I may have one in my Auckland office but am in Wellington today. If you want I can have a look tomorrow for you. Free to a good home if I can find one. Just let me know if you want me to look.

+1 for calling Logitech support.

A few months ago I bought a logitech keyboard second hand on trademe and it arrived without a unifying receiver.

I called up logitech support, gave them all the details and waited for them to ask for my credit card details.  They didn't.  They said we'll have that posted out to you right away and sure enough a receiver arrived a 4-5 days later.

I'm still not sure whether this was an oversight or some rather spectacular customer service by Logitech that see a small investment in an existing customer paying off in future sales due to the goodwill those customers feel for getting a replacement part for free.

Either way, it's worth calling and finding out for yourself.

At work we have the discretion when there may have been an error to just write off the part being requested and send it to the customer, usually it is the cheapest option to send a couple of dollar part than worry about the cost to sell the item, not to mention the goodwill the customer feels when you sort what was a negative into a positive.

Good on Logitech for taking this tact!

I must add to this --- I've contacted logitech support about 5 times in the last 10 years, and each time they have been excellent  -- once they even installed diagnostic software onto my PC which found a bug in their driver software.
