Pretty sure we got rid of ours but I'll check. It's big though (German Shepherd big)

Buy one and keep using it. Dogs that are crate trained tend to love their crates and its good for them to have a den that is only for them, their own space where nobody else intrudes. 

The danger with using one temporarily for training is that the dog can start to associate the crate with bad things (punishment, separation, etc) instead of good things like being his very own safe place. If that happens its a problem because sooner or later your dog will go to kennels or have an overnight stay at the vet. 

Please don't try to correct behavioural problems with a crate - you will end up making bigger problems. Just my opinion of course and easily ignored if you wish ;)
