Hi,

I'm just considering moving some equipment to a rack and hoping to do this cheap/free with second hand gear. This is for my lab at work, but don't have a budget for this unfortunately. Just have a lot of old gear scattered across benches, and want to tidy it up.

Ideally a tall rack (over 42U, ideally 48U or so) with a small footprint (maybe 600/600). A transparent door and removable side panels would be ideal. A built-in power distribution unit would be great, but not required.

Have some 3U and 4U equipment (has front brackets only, no rails). Looking for some rails for these (preferably slide rails), some shelves (preferably sliding) and some blank panels to block off unused spaces (preferably thin, will be drilling through this for gas fittings).

I've never dealt with racks before, so not too sure what I'm doing. Can find racks easily enough on trademe but having some difficulty with rails, etc. Located in Auckland

Thanks.

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

I have one you can have

Its 42RU, 1M deep. Mesh doors with sides.

Really really heavy...did I say heavy, like really heavy.

All yours but you gotta pick up on the North shore and provide muscle to move it.

I have a rack, I think its 42U, around 600mm deep (it can just squeeze in a 550mm deep server) that you can have for the cost of picking it up (i.e if you come and get it, it's yours).  It has a couple of shelves, the required transparent door (well, more like translucent), but not sure about the side panels.

I am in West Auckland.

Thanks for the offer, but 1M deep is a bit excessive. timbosan's offer is a bit more interesting.

That could be what I'm looking for. Thanks. Could you please let me know if it has side panels, what the width is, and message me your number? Hopefully I can talk one of our drivers into picking it up next week.

I'm still looking for rails for the 3U and 4U instruments and some more shelves. If anyone has something lying around, that'd be really appreciated.

I haven't been able to get in touch with timbosan, so now I'm looking again.

Anyone have something lying around?

Thanks for the offer. That looks to be ~1M deep? Would love to take you up on that, but it won't fit where I want it to go.
