Better chuck some more details in... are you talking one of the shoebox sized ones to keep in the boot fo your car or are you opening your own panelbeating shop and need an industrial compressor for your spraybooth? :)

I paid about $150 on special a couple of years ago for one similar to this from Repco for blowing the dust out of computers plus the odd tyre or ball. Might eventually use it to paint a corrugated iron back fence. Was getting annoying hanging around the floor so bought a couple of dynabolts with hooks on the end and a cheap ratchet tiedown strap and mounted it to a concrete wall in the garage at just above head height so I can see the gauge and reach the drain plug, and have a short hose dangling for clipping/unclipping accessories.

I also keep a jumpstart pack around that has one of the tiny 12v comrpessors in it for pumping up tyres and balls at home. The pack goes camping with me for charging laptop via a small inverter and I top it up with a 'briefcase solar panel'.

I got a basic one from Bunnings about 7 years ago for $99 I think, it was under $100 anyway, and it is still working perfectly today.
Only had to replace the hose as it split after a few years, it does get used every day.

I got one from super cheap about 5 years ago, and it works well. About $150 including lots of fittings, although I think they have gone up a bit in price since them. I wouldn't buy one second hand, because potentially there is quite a bit that could go wrong with them, and you don't know how it has been treated, and whether they have topped it up with oil correctly,

i see supercheap auto has some deals on this weekend which look great.
$299 including some air tools ( sprayers i think )

They are one of these companies that regally has 'sales', so you will probably be able to get a better price then. That is when I got mine.

yea seems like it! they were selling a Hoover "roomba style" for about $99 a few weeks ago...now its $129 for the roomba style including a main hoover machine. crazy!
