Not expecting any bites on here as there doesn't seem to be the community for this sort of purchase.

Brilliant receiver, still retailing for $3300. The audio is punchy, clear and handles movies and music with aplomb.

Powerful 9-channel surround sound, 140W per channel (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.06% THD)
Anti-Resonance Technology (A.R.T.)
H-shape cross member frame and rigid bottom frame
High-resolution Music Enhancer further heightens musicality from the original content
HQV Vida high-class chipset “VHD1900” for HD/SD video
Network functions such as AirPlay and AV Controller App
4K pass-through and upscaling for next-generation high resolution images
Front panel USB digital connection for iPod, iPhone and iPad
HDMI (8 inputs - with 1 on front - and 2 out) with 3D and Audio Return Channel
HDMI Zone B for audio/video streaming to another room
YPAO R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) sound optimization with multi-point measurement
ECO mode operation for about 20% less power consumption
Dialogue Lift and Dialogue Level Adjustment for natural dialogue and vocals
Versatile Zone control such as Zone 2/3 on/off, Zone 2/3 video assign and Party Mode

Pick up in Christchurch. Am happy to ship, pretty sure I still have the original box. But you will need to arrange yourself.

Price is $2k

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Just found the original box and packaging. Also confirmed from the retailer that there is a 4 year warranty, have had it around a 1 year, so still a good 3 years left.

That is a great receiver. I am very tempted, but unfortunately I have 10K worth of solar PV being installed in the next 6 weeks and that has sucked up any and all available funds!

Good luck.

It is very tempting, trust me, but I already have the RX-V3800 which is a more than capable receiver. What I like about these new models is the network connectivity and control - which will make life a lot easier when integrating with my home automation system. However $2K is hard to justify when the current model is fine and all I would get is this network gadgetry.

Cheers.

I can speak to how good these units are. I have it's big brother the Aventage A3030 and before that the RX-Z7. If you are in any way an audiophile, these are very capable AMPs.

If you end up with it Sumnerboy, you will be blown away, it has many cool features including being windows aware as a play to target, and android smart apps and the ability to Airplay from any compatible device. Very cool, one of the main reasons to upgrade for me.

Yeah - I already have the RX-V3800 which is a pretty decent amp - but lacks the fancy networking stuff. I am looking forward to integrating into my home automation system as well - should be a fun little project!
