Have won a Fujifilm X-T1 digital SLR camera body and lense kit!
No idea how to use a DSLR and could actually use the money right now to finish some work on the house.

Link to FujiFilm NZ for specs etc.

These kits retail for $2,579 and I see the cheapest on Geekzone Price comparison is $2,069.

Looking for offers around $2,000.
Will ship for free in NZ.
Box says it has a 3 year warranty.
PM me if interested.

Cheers!

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

What an awesome prize!

What lens does it come with? Would you be keen to negotiate the price? I may be in position to afford one at the end of the month though...

Yes it certainly looks like an awesome camera, I wish I knew more about these and had an interest in photography.

The box says the lense is an XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS.
whatever that means!

Happy to negotiate the price if it doesn't sell soon but will probably also put it on trademe.

More expensive than some, cheaper than others!

Certainly it is the highest end of the mirrorless market, especially when you factor in the "I live in NZ" tax, but more than happy with it so far as a replacement for my Nikon D90.

I feel that overall it performs on a par or better than - for example -  the D7100 in all the ways that matter to me and it is smaller and lighter.

I see. I would have gone for a full frame mirrorless at this price though.

Indeed I did consider the D610 for a while - but you know how the saying goes; "The best camera is the one you have with you".

My biggest problem with the D90 is that it became a chore to carry around casually and unless I was making a specific "photography trip", it would stay on the shelf along with all the lenses.

The Fuji is a fair whack smaller and lighter and the D610 doesn't really offer me much in terms of image quality that the Fuji doesn't. I don't need 24MP and the low light performance of the Fuji is more than sufficient. Burst mode is quicker in the Fuji and the flip screen allows for discrete, waist-level street photography which is a direction I wanted to go in.

Horses for courses I guess!

From the research I did, the image quality for the Sony A7 is absolutely superb - better than the Fuji -  and if I was doing mostly portrait or studio photography, it would be at the top of my list. I think where it falls down for my needs is in the available lens selection (limited) and in versatility and speed/performance in terms of focussing, taking and processing "snap shots" and moving subjects.
