It's in really good condition although there are a few slight chips in the black paint that frames the image. These can be easily touched up. They are paint chips on the top front surface of the wall hanging, no chips in the board itself. Purely cosmetic.
This was always as it shows in the photo. Exactly how it's manufactured, I'm not sure. It's on fibre board but not like a poster stuck onto board as there is no ridge or edge that you can feel along the edge of the "poster". It's laminated somehow but laminate doesn't go right to the edge of the board and there's no edge.
The history of this is that prior to the start of the games this was up on the wall of offices in Auckland's CBD. I can't recall which company but it's likely to have been at Eagle Technologies because I was often in there and I socialised with the family. Anyway, I remember admiring the wall hanging and expressing a wish to have one. After the games concluded, a courier turned up at my office with this. I've loved it and looked after it ever since but cannot take it with me.
it's a bit of games history as well as Unisys history. Which is why I put it here to let Geekzoners have a crack at it. I haven't advertised it anywhere else - it deserves a home where someone can appreciate it.
ve1l: Neat… What are the dimensions, and how good of condition is it? What's the timeframe for picking it up?
Thanks!
ckc: I sent you a message, Elpie.
And answered :-)
For anyone else, ckc has first dibs on this now. Cheers.
