Server motherboard is dead during failed BIOS update, recovery method unsuccessful.

Replacement board can be purchased from Ebay for around $200 NZD shipped.

Includes Xeon 5504 CPU, 24GB DDR3-800 RAM (3 x 8GB), 2 x 300GB 10k SAS drives, single PSU (chassis supports 2 PSUs).

Also includes a RAID Activation Key I believe.

Pickup in Chch only. Best offer gets it (currently have an offer of $40).

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Bump. Good deal for someone who might have one of these already and wants spare parts/upgrade RAM/extra CPU.

Gonna be cheeky, would you split the stuff out of the case, dispose of the case and then ship?  Appreciate it is a lot more work, but the parts would work for me, I just don't have space for a 1u rack mount case... I'm currently on ATX cases due to space...

Have a think, just a question :-)

Yeah I can do that, what parts are you interested in specifically? If its just the drives/RAM/CPU that wouldn't be a problem to ship (the PSU would be a bit costly, but is specific to the case anyway).

Yeah it is the guts rather than the case, I'll eventually build out my home system in to racks but right now, my only space is in a cupboard and ATX case just work.  This would add to my homelab setup :-)

I do not have the original server packaging so no easy way to ship it unfortunately.

Would you ship the parts only then?

CPU, RAM, PSU, HDD, RAID card and activation key?

Yep that would be fine at buyer's cost, PSU is only item of any significant shipping cost I would imagine.

Still interested in just the chassis + PSU. If only there was some cheap way to ship it up to Auckland.

Without the original packaging it would be very difficult I would imagine unfortunately.
